Templates Overview

Templates in DonorDock may be used to send bulk email communications, individual emails, print letters, and receipts.

Templates in your organization may be accessed via one of three methods.
  • Select Outreach in the navigation bar and select Templates. The Templates Manager will open on Marketing Templates.

  • Select Transactions in the navigation bar and select Templates. The Templates Manager will open on Transactional Templates.

  • Select the Settings Menu (grid icon) in the top right of DonorDock and select Manage Templates.

Template Types

Marketing

Marketing templates are used when sending bulk email communications through the Outreach feature or using the individual send email activity and the activity type Letter.

Transactional

Transactional Templates are templates designed to be sent in response to a donation. They are primarily used for receipts, thank-you letters, and pledge reminders. Gift-specific merge tags are only available on transactional templates.

Template Output Methods

Email

Email templates are used when sending email communications through DonorDock and include digital only elements such as menus, buttons, video, and social media icons.

Print

Print templates are used when printing letters or receipts through DonorDock. Print templates may be created directly in DonorDock with our Template editor, or you may upload existing Word Documents to use for a Template.
