Admin Actions updating Project Board

Administrators can manage Project Boards to support different workflows and team needs. This includes creating new boards, duplicating or deleting boards, setting default boards, and managing lanes, also called stages. These tools allow admins to structure Project Boards to match how work is organized across the organization.

Only users with the Administrator role can create, edit, duplicate, or delete Project Boards and stages.

Steps at a Glance
  1. Open a Project Board

  2. Use the settings gear to manage the board

  3. Create, duplicate, edit, or delete boards

  4. Add, move, or delete stages (lanes)

  5. Set default boards for the team

Creating a New Project Board

  1. Log in to DonorDock and open the Boards Menu

  2. Select Projects

  3. Click to view the dropdown of available projects

  4. Select Create New Project

  5. Enter the following details:

    • Project Name

    • Description

    • Campaign

    • Checkbox to set this board as the default Project Board for all team members

  6. Click Create Project

The new Project Board will be available to your team.

Duplicating an Existing Project Board

  1. Navigate to the Project Board you want to copy

  2. Click the Settings gear icon

  3. Select Copy Board

  4. Enter a name for the new Project Board

  5. Click Copy Project

This creates a new board with the same lanes and structure as the original.

Deleting a Project Board

  1. Open the Project Board you want to remove

  2. Click the Settings gear icon

  3. Select Delete Board

Deleting a board removes the board and its lanes. Tasks assigned to that board will no longer be associated with it.

Setting a Default Project Board for the Team

  1. Open the Project Board

  2. Click the Settings gear icon

  3. Select Edit Project

  4. Check the box to set this board as the default Project Board

  5. Save your changes by clicking Update Project Board

This sets the default Project Board for all team members who have not selected a personal default.

Adding, Moving, or Deleting Stages (lanes)

Add a New Stage
  1. Click + Add Stage at the top of the far right empty lane

  2. Enter the name of the new lane

  3. Click Add

Move a Stage
  1. Click the action icon (three vertical dots) to the right of the lane name

  2. Select Move Left or Move Right

  3. Repeat until the lane is in the desired position

Delete a Stage
  1. Click the action icon next to the lane name
