Board Options in DonorDock

DonorDock includes three board types that help your team plan work, manage fundraising pipelines, and stay on top of daily actions. Each board serves a different purpose, and together they provide both big-picture visibility and personal task management.

The three board types are:

  • Action Board

  • Ask Boards

  • Project Boards

These boards are designed to work together. Asks and tasks can appear on their respective boards for strategic planning and also appear on the Action Board for personal follow through. This allows teams to manage projects and fundraising pipelines while each team member can track their daily responsibilities in one place.

Board Types at a Glance

Action Board

The Action Board is each team member’s personal home board. It shows nudges, assigned actions, tasks, and asks that the user is responsible for completing. The Action Board helps individuals manage their day-to-day work and ensures nothing slips through the cracks.

Use the Action Board to:

  • Act on nudges

  • Complete activities

  • Manage daily priorities

Ask Boards

Ask Boards are used to track fundraising Asks as they move through stages such as Identify, Cultivate, Solicit, and Close. Each Ask represents a planned solicitation or fundraising request tied to a contact. Ask Boards provide a visual way to manage donor relationships and forecast fundraising progress.

Use Ask Boards for:

  • Major gifts

  • Sponsorships

  • Grants

  • Planned giving

  • Membership invitations

Project Boards

Project Boards are designed to organize tasks into stages that reflect how work gets done. Each task belongs to one Project Board and can be moved across lanes as work progresses. Project Boards are ideal for managing campaigns, events, content planning, and internal projects.

Use Project Boards for:

  • Campaign planning

  • Event coordination

  • Grant writing workflows

  • Content calendars

  • Operational projects

Otto Tips

Let boards work together: Tasks and Asks can live on their boards and still show up on the Action Board for individual accountability.

🌊 Keep your boards clean: Update stages and complete items regularly so boards reflect real progress.
