Gift Conversion tracking from Sent Emails

DonorDock automatically tracks donations from your bulk emails, giving you clear visibility into which emails drive gifts and how much revenue each email generates.

How It Works

When you send a bulk email that contains a link to a giving page, DonorDock automatically appends a small tracking parameter to the URL before the email goes out. When a donor clicks that link and completes a donation, DonorDock matches the gift back to the specific email that drove it. No manual setup or UTM configuration is needed — it works automatically.

This tracking works with two types of giving pages:

  • DonorDock Giving Pages — Any link using your ddock.gives subdomain or a ddock.co short link

  • GoFundMe Pro Giving Pages — Links to GoFundMe Pro / Classy giving pages

What Gets Tracked

Once conversion tracking links a gift to an email, you'll see:

  • Gifts — The number of donations that resulted from the email

  • Gift Amount — The total dollar amount of those donations

  • Conversion Rate — The percentage of delivered emails that resulted in a gift

Conversion metrics appear in several places:

  • Email Detail Page — The stats section at the top includes a "Conversions" area showing gifts, gift amount, and conversion rate. Below the stats, a Gifts section lists all individual gifts linked to that email.

  • Recipient Engagement — The expandable Recipient Engagement panel includes conversion rate and gift amount alongside your open rate, click rate, and other engagement metrics.

  • Email Comparison — When comparing multiple emails, conversion metrics are included as columns so you can evaluate which emails drive the most donations.

DonorDock Giving Pages

For DonorDock giving pages, tracking is fully automatic. DonorDock recognizes two URL patterns in your email body:

  • Your giving page subdomain — e.g., https://yourorg.ddock.gives/...

  • DonorDock short links — e.g., https://ddock.co/...

DonorDock appends a ge_id parameter to these URLs before sending. When a donor clicks the link and completes their donation, the gift is automatically linked to the email.

GoFundMe Pro Giving Pages

If you use the GoFundMe Pro integration, DonorDock also tracks conversions from GoFundMe Pro and Classy giving page links. The following domains are tracked by default:

  • donate.gofundme.com

  • give.classy.org

Custom Giving Page Domains

Many organizations using GoFundMe Pro have custom domains for their giving pages. You can add these in your GoFundMe Pro integration settings:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations

  2. Click Configure on your GoFundMe Pro integration

  3. Add your custom giving page domains

  4. Save your changes

Once added, DonorDock will also append tracking parameters to links matching those custom domains.

Appeal Attribution

When your bulk email is associated with an appeal, DonorDock can also automatically set the appeal on resulting gifts. Here's how the priority works:

  • If the giving page has its own appeal configured, that appeal is always used — the giving page's appeal takes priority.

  • If the giving page does not have an appeal but the email is associated with an appeal, the email's appeal is inherited by the gift.

This means you don't need to worry about the email overriding appeal settings you've already configured on your giving pages.

Things to Know

  • Tracking parameters are appended automatically — you don't need to add anything to your links manually.

  • Tracking works for all bulk emails, regardless of whether the email is associated with an appeal.

  • If a group email is deleted, gifts that were linked to it will have that association removed, but the gifts themselves are not affected.

  • Conversion stats update as gifts come in — you may see numbers change over time as donors complete their donations after clicking a link.
