Importing in Data to Custom Fields

When importing data into DonorDock from a spreadsheet, you have the option to map columns in your spreadsheet to Custom Fields in your DonorDock environment. This allows you to bring in additional, organization-specific information tied to your contact records.

Key Requirements for Mapping Custom Fields

To successfully map data to a Custom Field during import, the following conditions must be met:

• The Custom Field must already exist in DonorDock.
  You cannot create a new Custom Field during the import process. All custom fields must be created beforehand by going to your Contacts page, opening the settings menu, and selecting "Custom Fields."

• The values in each row under that column will be imported as the value for that field.
  For instance, if you have a column labeled Parent, and one row has the value True, DonorDock will apply True as the value for the Parent custom field on that contact's profile for a True/False field of Parent.
