QuickBooks and DonorDock

QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online are two different versions of the popular accounting software, each designed to meet specific organizational needs.

QuickBooks Desktop is a locally installed application that users download and install on their computers, while QuickBooks Online is cloud-based and offers flexibility and accessibility from any device with internet access.

In DonorDock, we offer different integration options based on the type of QuickBooks your organization uses.

QuickBooks Desktop Integration

Available for all subscription tiers, this integration lets you run batch gift reports, export them as IIF files, and easily import them into your QuickBooks Desktop application.

QuickBooks Online Integration (Built-in)

This built-in integration, available for all subscription tiers, allows you to seamlessly sync DonorDock gifts (in received status) with QuickBooks Online as sales receipts. Once enabled, the integration automatically syncs gifts every hour, ensuring effortless and continuous management of gift data between DonorDock and QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks Online Integration (Professional subscription only)

For organizations subscribed to DonorDock Professional, this advanced option, available through the Integration Builder with Albato, provides more customization. Using QuickBooks Online in the builder, two pre-built scenarios are offered that you may turn on:

  • Template: DonorDock to QuickBooks Online (Sales Receipt) – Create a new sales receipt from a DonorDock gift in QuickBooks Online.

  • Template: DonorDock to QuickBooks Online (Create Gift Batch Deposit) - Create a deposit in QuickBooks Online for all received gifts when a gift batch is closed in DonorDock.

You can also use the builder to create a custom scenario to QuickBooks Online if desired.
