Otto's Logbook: Release Notes 12.16.2025

We are excited to share a new DonorDock update focused on removing friction from everyday work. This release introduces a highly requested improvement that makes it easier to create related records without losing your place. It is designed to help you move faster, stay focused, and keep your data complete as you work.

Create new records from another record! 🎊

One of our most requested improvements is here! You can now create new records directly from an existing record in DonorDock without stopping, saving, or starting over.

When creating or editing a Contact, you can add related records on the fly and return right to where you left off.

How It Works

When adding a related record, such as an Employer or Household, while creating or editing a Contact:

  1. Click into the field that connects to another record type, such as Employer

  2. Begin typing the name of the record you want to add

  3. If no existing match is found, select Create new record

    No Match Found - Create new record
    No Match Found - Create new record
  4. A second panel opens, allowing you to enter details for the new record

  5. Click Create and Save

  6. You will be returned to your original record so you can continue working without interruption

This makes it easy to finish what you started while still keeping your data complete and accurate.

Where You Can Use This

This new create-in-place experience is available in multiple areas of DonorDock:

  • Create a new Organization when assigning an Employer to a Contact

  • Create a new Household when adding new contacts that are connected

  • Create Campaigns, Appeals, and Funds directly from Gifts

  • Create new Contact records directly from Gifts and Activities

No more canceling, saving drafts, or navigating away just to add a missing record! 🥳

🚢 Hull Repairs and Bug Fixes

We also shipped a wide range of fixes and behind-the-scenes improvements

  • Fixed an issue where copying an Ask Board could fail or return an error.

  • Corrected an issue with DAF fee amounts not calculating or displaying correctly.

  • Fixed an issue where additional email and text receipt deliveries from Stripe were not appearing in the billing history.

  • Corrected an incorrect webhook URL used for Chariot integrations.

  • Fixed an issue where transactional merge tags were not populating correctly in automation letter templates.

  • Added a field on receipt activities to show which gift the receipt was sent in relation to.

  • Updated automations to continue processing remaining actions when a fetch filter check fails.

  • Fixed an issue where One Cause imports could create duplicate gifts or fail unexpectedly.

  • Corrected an issue where Fundraise Up gift updates were overriding the original gift date.

  • Fixed an issue where the Fundraise Up ID was being cleared during UI updates.
