Template Folders
Keeping your templates organized is like keeping a ship’s deck in order before heading out to sea. With folders in DonorDock, you can group templates into the right place so they are easy to find, manage, and use. This way, you spend less time searching and more time setting sail with the right message.
Accessing the Template Editor
You can open the template editor from:
Outreach > Templates
Transactions > Templates
The Settings menu (grid icon in the top right), then select Manage Templates
At the top, you’ll see two tabs: Marketing Templates and Transactional Templates.
Marketing Templates are used for bulk emails or individual email/letter activities.
Transactional Templates are used for donation-related communications, such as receipts, thank-you letters, or pledge reminders. These templates also include gift-specific merge tags.
Creating a Folder
In the template editor, click the Add New Folder tile.
Enter a name for your folder and choose a color.
Click Create New Folder.
You may leave templates in the unfoldered section or move them into folders:
Drag and drop a template into a folder.
Or, click the three dots on a template tile, select Move, and choose the folder.
If a template is in the wrong folder:
Drag it back to the top “Unfoldered” area, or
Use the Move option again and select the correct folder.
Editing or Deleting Folders
Edit a folder: Click the three dots on the folder tile, select Edit, and update the folder name or color.
Delete a folder: Click the three dots on the folder tile and select Delete.
Otto Tips
🌊 Stay in your lane: Marketing and Transactional templates swim in separate waters. A folder cannot hold both types.
🐚 No sinking templates: If you delete a folder, your templates won’t vanish. The stranded templates will float back to the unfoldered section.
⚓ Alphabet tides: Folders sort themselves alphabetically. You can’t change the order, no matter how hard you paddle.
🦑 Move with care: Templates can only be moved from the main grid view, not while actively editing a template.
