Uploading and Managing Documents in DonorDock

DonorDock allows you to upload and store documents directly on Contact, Gift, and Activity records. This can be useful for keeping important files, supporting documentation, correspondence, or other records connected to the appropriate person, gift, or activity.

Uploading Documents to a Contact

To add a document to a Contact record:

  1. Navigate to Contacts and open the Contact record.

  2. Click the Documents tab.

  3. Click Upload Documents.

  4. Select the file you want to upload.

  5. Once the upload is complete, the document will appear in the Documents section of the Contact record.

Documents can be uploaded in the following file types:

  • PDF

  • Word

  • Excel

  • Image files

Finding Documents

If a Contact has a large number of uploaded documents, use the search bar in the Documents tab to quickly locate a file.

Enter a keyword from the document title to narrow the list of displayed documents.

Editing, Downloading, or Deleting a Document

From the Documents tab, locate the document you want to manage and use the available document actions.

  • Edit: Click the pen icon to update the document title.

  • Download: Click the download icon to download the document for review.

  • Delete: Click the trash can icon to remove the document.

Note: A document can only be deleted by the user who originally uploaded it or by an Administrator.

Uploading Documents to Gifts and Activities

Documents can also be uploaded directly to Gift and Activity records.

Open the Gift or Activity record and locate its Documents section. From there, you can upload and manage files using the same document box and actions available on Contact records.

Uploading a document to the specific Gift or Activity it relates to can make supporting documentation easier to locate later and keep the file connected to the appropriate record.
